About Pokeit
What is Pokeit?
Pokeit is an application that helps you track and improve your poker game. Pokeit takes the hand histories your poker client creates, and assembles the data into a portfolio of reports, stats, and graphs.
What’s your plan with this thing?
We created Pokeit with the idea that if you play poker online, and you talk about hands with other poker players online, why can’t you track your hands online too? Having your hands online makes it easy to share them with other people, access them on all your computers and devices, and it lets us take care of the whole database side of things so you don’t have to. We thought that players would find something like this really useful and we hope you like what we’ve built.
Wait, a website and a program? What is the meaning of this?
While the magic of Pokeit happens online in the comfort of your own web browser, your hand histories are created by your poker client and stored on your computer. For Pokeit to work properly, we need to move those text files from your computer on to our servers. To make this transfer easy, we've built a program called the “Pokeit Client” to take care of it automatically. Once you download and install it, the client will run in the background on your computer and upload hands as you play them.
Do I need to have the Pokeit Client running in order to use the website?
No, you can use the website any time, and from any computer! The Pokeit Client is only needed to sync new hands that you’ve played.
I feel protective of my hand histories, is this safe?
Your data is safe with us. We transfer your hand histories to our servers and deliver web pages to you using SSL and HTTPS. This is the same level of security as your web email account, or your bank’s website. We also have multiple layers of data protection on our servers to protect against hacking and other nefarious activity.
Do you share my stuff with anyone?
Publicly, we’ll only make available data that you explicitly enable for sharing. Internally, your hand histories may be used to help improve Pokeit by providing us with details on hand history formats and game types. From time to time, Pokeit may enlist the help of trusted third party developers from the Free Poker Database (FPDB) team for the purposes of diagnosing and fixing hand history formatting problems. Details on additional aspects of our privacy policy can be found here.
What poker sites do you support?
Pokeit supports hand histories from 23 different poker sites and networks. These networks are the backbone of over 120 poker sites and skins which are also supported by Pokeit.

What if Pokeit doesn’t support my site/game?
Our goal is to support all games and all sites possible. If your game or site isn’t supported, feel free to contact us at info@pokeit.co and we’ll see if we can add it.
What browsers can I use with Pokeit?
We utilize quite a bit of “cutting edge” web concepts to build our web apps. Some older browsers might have a little trouble with some of these technologies. We currently support: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Opera (9 and above) and also Internet Explorer (10 and above). We’re working on making the apps run better in mobile browsers, as well.
Creating an Account

Installing & Using the Pokeit Client
My computer is running Windows, how do I do install the client?
The instruction for installing the Pokeit Client on Windows can be found here.
I’m a Mac, how do I do install the client?
The instructions for installing the Pokeit Client on the Mac can be found here.
Hand histories, what are those?
Every hand of poker you play is recorded to a text file by your site’s poker client. You used to have to request these hand histories via email but now you can set it up for them to save while you play. Every poker site does this differently, so be sure to check out the Site configuration guides page for more details.
Can I use Pokeit along side PokerTracker (PT4) or Hold’em Manager (HM2)?
Yes, you can. But there are some known issues. PokerTracker & Hold'em Manager will move new hand histories to archive directories after reading them. If they get to the hand histories before Pokeit can read them, we won't be able to add them to your database. To find out more about how to fix this issue, check out our article on Running Pokeit alongside PT4 or HM2.
How do I import hands from my PokerTracker or Hold’em Manager database?
The best way to import from PokerTracker or Hold’em Manager, is to export the hands from your database to a folder that can be uploaded to Pokeit. If your current database has an archive folder, that’ll work too.
- In PokerTracker select Database > Database Management. When the dialog pops up, click Export and then choose where you want the hands to be saved.
- In Hold’em Manager select Options/Database Management. Click Connect, select your database, and click the Export Hands button.
Once you’ve saved the exported hands to a folder, open Pokeit, click the ‘Add Folder’ button that looks like a plus sign and Pokeit will upload and import your hands.
How can I get my old hands that I can’t find on my computer?
Contact your poker site’s support staff to see if they have your old hands histories on file. If they do, go ahead and download them and select the ‘Add Folder’ option in Pokeit to upload the hands to your account. Be sure to unzip the archives first.
Help, Pokeit isn’t importing/uploading my hands!
Have you made sure your poker site’s client is saving hand histories and tournament summaries? Are you connected to the internet? Is Pokeit on? If restarting Pokeit doesn’t fix the problem, contact us and we’ll see if there’s something we can do to help. Also be sure to read this article on Uploading your poker hands to see if you've missed a step.
What does it mean if there were errors importing my hands or files didn’t import?
Not all errors are created equal. Some poker sites write partial hand histories when you leave the table. Some hands have peculiar issues that can’t be easily fixed on our end. Sometimes the file that couldn’t be identified isn’t even a hand history. If there’s an error importing your hands and you want to know more about it, feel free to contact us at support@pokeit.co. We’ll let you know if anything needs fixing.
You said that my site/game is supported, but my hands didn’t import. What gives?
While Pokeit is designed to support all the games, there some sites where we don’t have information on all their hand history formats. This can be fixed pretty easily once we have an example hand history for that game. We’ll be notified when something like this happens, but you can always contact us at support@pokeit.co to find out when we’ll be able to import your hands.
When I try to open the Pokeit app, I get a meesage that says “Pokeit.app is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash”.
You’re seeing this message because of a security “feature” in OS X which only allows for apps downloaded from the Mac App Store. You can turn this off with these steps:
- Open System Preferences
- Click on the “Security & Privacy” icon
- If needed, click the lock icon in the bottom-left corner of this tab to make changes
- Under “Allow applications downloaded from“, select “Anywhere“
Account Management
How do Pokeit accounts work?
Every user gets access to all our features and unlimited storage. The only limit is what games are supported by your plan. We have three levels of membership, one for hold'em only, one for all flop games, and one for all games. Visit our pricing page for details on these plans.
What happens if I want to upgrade to a plan that supports more game types?
You can visit the upgrade page to select a new plan. After you've confirmed your selection and payment method, we'll import all of the hands in folders you've synced with us from games that were not supported by your previous plan.
I’ve decided my plan is not for me, can I downgrade my plan?
Yes, you can. You can do so by visiting our upgrade page, where you can select a different plan. What we’ll do is clear your Pokeit database of all your hands, and then re-import only those hands from games supported by your new plan.
How do I cancel my Pokeit membership?
Please visit the close account page while logged in to cancel your membership and close your account. Keep in mind that closing your account permanently deletes all your hand data that is stored on our servers, as well as any of your shared hands!
Can I pause my Pokeit membership?
If you'd like to take a break from poker and don't want to lose access to your data, we can pause your membership for up to 3 months. Please email support@pokeit.co for details.
Billing & Payments
How do payments work?
All of our paid plans are on a monthly subscription basis. Once you select an account, and enter your card details, you’ll be charged that same day covering a full month of service. You’ll be charged again on the same date in future months for as long as you’re a Pokeit customer.
What happens if I want to upgrade when I’m halfway into my billing period?
Upgrading will immediately move your account to a new plan. Since you’ve already paid for the current billing period, we’ll pro-rate the new amount for the remainder of this month and the balance will appear on the next month’s bill (on your normal billing date).
Which credit/debit cards do you accept?
We accept all Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB, and Diners Club cards.
What will my bank statements say?
You’ll see “POKEIT LLC” on your bank statements.
Can I pay by paypal, bitcoin, bank wire, or poker site transfer?
Sorry, these options are not available at this time.
Logging In
How do I log in?
You can log in to Pokeit account by clicking login on the homepage or from the login page. Once you’re there, just enter either the username you created when you signed up, or the email address you used when you signed up. Also type in your password and then hit “Submit”.
I forgot my password!
Not a problem! Just click “forgot password” on the login page or go straight to the forgot password page. You’ll be asked to type in the email address you used when you created an account. We’ll send further password resetting instructions to you by email.
I forgot my username!
Also not a problem! You can log in by typing in the email address you provided when you signed up.
I forgot my username AND my email address!
Think really hard about which email addresses you have, and try those. Have you searched for “Pokeit” in your messages? If you have some type of weird “Memento” condition, look around for a sticky note and/or body tattoo that has your account info.
Using the HUD
Where can I find the HUD?
The Pokeit HUD comes enabled by default in the Pokeit Client and will automatically display on top of the tables while you play.
How can I configure my HUD?
We've written two guides to help you. Setting up your Pokeit HUD walks you through the setup process and Customizing your HUD explains how to change your HUD stats and filters.
Does the HUD work with PokerStars Zoom?
It does not, but support for Zoom poker and other fast fold variants is in the works.
The HUD isn't showing up
Check out our article on Troubleshooting HUD issues for steps on how to get the HUD working on your system.
